With the INVENT HYPERMIX®, a hyperboloidal agitator is used in drinking water storage for the first time. It has been optimized in terms of flow mechanics and homogenizes the water with high energy efficiency.
Drinking water reservoirs play a central role in the safe municipal water supply. Health risks arise in standing water due to the layers that form at different temperatures. Due to the increased local dwell time of part of the water, algae formation, post-contamination or uncontrolled chemical concentrations can occur.
The hyperboloid stirrer is embedded in a tripod made of stainless steel that matches the contour of the stirrer. In addition to the integrating function, it assumes the function of a flow breaker, which deflects the rotational component of the velocity in the radial direction. When the HYPERMIX® agitator starts to move, the rotating hyperboloid body induces a directed flow that runs radially outwards on the bottom of the tank. To do this, the agitator sucks in fluid from above, breaking up the layers and mixing the contents of the pool safely and permanently. The vortex ring prevents vortices around the circumference of the HYPERMIX® and maximizes the efficiency of the entire machine.
