Extended Description:
CFD stands for Computational Fluid Dynamics and is a branch of fluid mechanics that uses numerical analysis to solve problems involving fluid flow. Using CFD-Simulations it is possible to analyze and optimize stirred tank reactors. All relevant process parameters can be analyzed such as: degree of mixing, suspension of solids, identification of short-circuiting or dead zones, etc.

Stirred tanks are one of the most common reactors in the biological stage of water and wastewater treatment. An efficient and smooth process operation is essential for functioning of the whole plant.

  • Complete description of steady-state fluid dynamical behavior in the reactor
